Lemon Chicken

I’ve never seen a balloon inside of a cat
Or a comedian pick religion over world peace
Until right before she fed me her mothers recipe
Carrots over skates
Truth or dare charades
I’ve realised I only want her limerence
And to witness my jokes
She never says no to a pint
I watch her charge up batteries in a crowd
like the unbothered African wild protected
By the swamp in the Nile
