Do you believe in God?
I find it to be an interesting question.
God is nature, love, the stars, life itself. To ask if one believes in God is to ask if we believe in reality. To me, God isn’t a matter of belief. God is a matter of acknowledgement.
The word ‘God’ again, is a word that has religious roots so many people who aren’t religious scoff at the word. But again, religion is not God. Religion is the most popular restaurant that serves God. Which has of course failed to renovate for the times. Leading to bad chefs, bad meals and other unfortunate and counterproductive occurrences. I actually believe the church squanders its potential. How many institutions get blind faith and attendance. People who are unquestionably devoted to it regardless of its performance. Though this religious loyalty is dwindling and will continue to do so until it reinvents itself.
Other words describe the same thing in multiple languages. Divine, Allah, Buddha so on…The unifying force that keeps everything together. The glue. It is not a matter of belief. Many people reject God because they reject the church, they reject the hypocrisy of religious institutions. Rightfully so. Religion is just the most popular framework designed to carry a big truth.
These days when I hear people refer to God as “He” I cringe a little but I understand that is just learnt language. We are mostly refering to the same thing. The pageantry and pomp don’t compel me though. I think they do more harm than good.
However, I think to reject God, The Divine, The Higher and Inner Power is like drowning and turning away at a lifeboat that is right in front of you because you may not like some people on it.
Look for God in all things, because God is all things. God is not religion. Find your way to it. Find your way to it. It is there.
God is nature, love, harmony, the stars, the glue that even science can’t explain.
So the question isn’t “Do you believe in God?”
The question is “Do you believe in anything?”
