Fascinations of religion. People seem to be asking the wrong questions in a search for a direction to orient themselves. They refer to God a person, a ‘He’ or ‘She’. It is a painful blindness. They debate whether or not Jesus was real, and whether or not he rose from the dead. If we can prove this unequivocally, what then.  Will the people who refuse to acknowledge the spirt we all know to be true all of a sudden turn inward, will we then value truth over all. Will we then redesign society. What is the point of such endless debate on whether the tales and stories of the Bible and other faiths are factually true or not.

The point of such teachings is not to urge us to worship such things, which is idolatry which these books ironically tend to warn. The point of these books is that they are a guide, a door, to help us learn and look to truth. They are not the source of truth in and of themselves. The same can be said for science. 

Perhaps because we haven’t been taught how to hold paradox, to fully be able to consider all of the structures of existence, it is no surprise people retreat into partial structures of life. The church, religion, pleasure, sex, glory, money, jobs, relationships, titles, popular opinion. As to consider all of these things comprehensively and coherently. Is a whole other thing all together.
