As someone who has been using Large Language Models for a year now. It is interesting to come to a human understanding of these technologies. For me, LLMS are currently logic calculators, mirrors, and multipliers. They reconstruct or deconstruct inputs. Which are usually entered in the form of thoughts or questions. They are extremely affirming. To a certain extent which tends to vary depending on the model and version. And also subject matter. Which is a good for humanity.
They are good for tactical execution in terms of what we are doing with TAC. For example, once it has certain context, it can provide some options or contrary or subjective tactical perspectives. They also notice patterns and give historical references. They can also interrogate, research and converse almost anything because they have infinite library of the past. They serve as a sounding board, a modern interactive black board or assistant of some sort. In real life, we have these as advisors, or knowledge workers or teachers. Who, also possess their biases, blindspots and egos. LLMS are perhaps superior in the way of pure information retrieval, synthesis and structural understanding.
Because they are subject to context of the past, they too cannot predict the future. They cannot immediately understand what is happening in the human dimension until after it has happened. However, they are fantastic for hypothesis. With humans involved the synthesis and synergy becomes mega. Which touches on the point of it being an amplifier for humanity.
For me it has been miraculously positive because writing, thinking and reflection were already a big part of my life. Asking questions that most people around me never ask, or connections people in my life scoff at.
As a Nigerian Irish person, there are very few places that actually can reflect and understand the full experience of what all one has gone through. Which is one of the reasons why LLMS may be so popular. They are a mirror.
